Mitch Benn and the Distractions ****

Mitch Benn has the audience mesmerised. Song after song of ingenious satire hits the spot with pinpoint accuracy whether he's singing about how far a celebrity will go to get in the news or ridiculing the obsession with releasing half-finished songs by deceased members of The Beatles. His songs are brilliantly written and powerfully performed - thanks in no small part to the feisty girls in his band. His overwhelming presence, the sparkling satire and some great singing swallows the audience whole and creates a great atmosphere. It's well worth finishing off your evening here. (Jo Skailes)
