Mitch Benn is
The 37th Beatle

Mitch Benn is the 37th Beatle combines Mitch's Scouse upbringing, his love of music, and a lifelong obsession with Liverpool's most famous sons in one show.

Mitch Benn was born in Liverpool in January 1970. Three months later the Beatles broke up. Coincidence? Yes.

More than 60 years on from the release of Please Please Me, Mitch once again explores the enduring legacy of the Fab Four and shamelessly milks his own (incredibly tenuous) connection to them.

Mitch Benn is the 37th Beatle is a glorious mix of spot-on Beatles parodies, trivia and an endearingly personal account of his own claim to the title of 'The Fifth Beatle'.

**** It’s hard to decide what the highlight of the show is: it is his spot-on Beatles spoof songs or the sheer richness and variety of the Beatles trivia he shares? Or is it actually secret option three: his own tenuous connections to the Beatles, explored in fits and starts throughout the show, and culminating with a story about a snake, a van and the original ‘fifth Beatle’ Pete Best. - Chortle, Aug 2013

****  This is a must-see show for anyone who even faintly enjoys the Beatles, anyone who likes pop music at all, anyone who likes a laugh. Benn, a truly likeable man with a sharp wit, produces an hour of pure joy. - Broadway Baby, Aug 2013

**** This is certainly an entertaining hour and it is not necessary to be a Beatles fan to enjoy the spectacle so why not give it a go. - One4Review, Aug 2013

***** What really sets the show apart is that it’s incredibly well-researched, informative and engaging. Benn’s fast-paced trawl through the life and legacy of the Beatles (and why Simon Cowell will never emulate their success) held the audience totally captivated. - Three Weeks, Aug 2013

There’s enough trivia here to satisfy even the most die-hard of fans, as we take a chronological tour of Beatlesmania from their school days right up to now. - B24/7, Oct 2014

...it is mimicking music that is his forte, and the parodies here are just a gnat’s crotchet away from the originals... possibly the closest since Neil Innes and Eric Idle’s The Rutles, who get a well-earned mention on this rundown. - Chortle Feb 2014
